2nd February 2017
Well here we are. Why not come to sunny Devon and enjoy our Classic 2 day Trial on Exmoor on Saturday and Sunday 15th and 16th April. So if you were unable to get into the pre-65 Scottish or you want to practice on mild rocks before your Scottish ride, come down to Exmoor National park at the other end of the country for a warm welcome.
The regulations for the Easter Trial are in the ‘Entries’ section. You will notice that Day 1 is at the Keypits Offroad Adventures Farm where Fred Chugg has allocated a flat field just past the farm entrance for the start. Because Easter is the start of the season for the quad riding there we have been allocated all the lower valley which consists of a lovely rocky stream and several sections on the banks. There will be 10 sections 3 laps 2 routes which should be enough for an afternoon trial.
Venue: Keypitts Offroad Adventures, Keypitts Farm, Oxen Park Lane , Ilfracombe, EX34 9RW
There are other campsites in the area if someone wants to base there.
Loads of B&B’s in the area. There will be two toilets in start field and a Catering Van.
Day 2 will be at Shallowford, near Lynton about 16 miles away (30mins travelling) where as usual where there will be 12 sections 3 laps. We look forward to seeing you there.
27th December 2016 Just a reminder that the clubs AGM will be held on Friday 6th January 2017 at the Tiverton Bowls club at 8 pm.
9th December 2016
We have just heard of a slight mishap with Classic rider Dave Spurgeon who sufferd a stroke very recently. Dave is up and about but has a slight speech problem and loss of feeling in his left arm. All our hopes go to him and Margret who are really staunch supporters of the Pre-65 and Twinshock scene. Dave has ridden all over the country for many years in various championships and was currently campaining on a 250 Ariel twin which really burbled up the sections. We wish Dave a good recovery to a normal life.

The Results of the End of Year Trial can now be seen in the RESULTS section of this site. Thanks to all who helped in any way to make it a successful and enjoyable event. Our next scheduled trial is the Exmoor 2 Day at Easter but before then we have the AGM on Friday 6th January at the Tiverton Bowls Club.
The end of year Trial for the 4th December has been set out at Tolland near Taunton and consists of four laps of 10 sections in the grippy woods and banks of Grove Farm. The course has been set out by Bob Hill and Viv Stephens-both big bike riders. There are two routes A and B. The ‘A’ route is for Twinshocks in the championship and the ‘B’ for Pre-65’s, although non championship riders can ride this easier ‘B’ route for no points. Novice, over 50’s and clubman can ride for those that want an easier non damaging course. No youth or Experts. A catering van will be on site with free food for observers and normal fare for anyone who wishes. The event commences at a reasonable 11.00 am and you may enter at the start. The venue is Grove Farm,Tolland, Bishops Lydeard, Taunton TA4 3PN.
Hope to see you there. Mike Naish

Sorry about the weather on day one-a huge thanks to all the observers who stood in the rain and to those also who observed on day 2. You know we cannot run these events without you. To the riders thankyou for all you kind comments the vast majority enjoyed themselves and said so. See you again next year hopefully.
Next weekend for the Dartmoor 2 day Trial(3rd-4th Sept). We would be grateful for any offers of help in observing either of the two days in the rocky streams. Just make yourselves known to the organisers. Thanks

31st May 2016
The entry forms for the 2016 Dartmoor 2 day Classic Trial in Devon on 3rd and 4th September 2016 are now on the website under ‘Entry Forms.
Please note that responding to requests from some for a few more difficult sections for those who feel the Star route is too hard and the gentleman’s route is too easy, we have added a class in between called ‘Past and Present’ which will be a 50/50 route. That is 50% of the sections you would need to ride would be from the Star route. These will be selected from the easiest half of this harder route. Rest assured the easier Gentlemans route and the Star route will be about the same as last year. There will still be the two routes through each section and please note that the overall classification is a ‘C’ class trial not a B class which is printed on the regulations.
The Past Master route will only be on the Gentlemans route. Note that the entries close on Saturday 2nd July OR when full. Entry limit 120.
11th April Exmoor Awards. The awards have been slightly amended because I failed to see that the Colin Dommett Shield on the Star route was for best Pre-70 and not best performance overall. Similarly on the Gentlemans route. See Results sheet-Awards
6th April 2016
Full Results and Awards of the 2016 Exmoor Classic 2 Day Trial are now in the RESULTS section. Thanks to all who competed. The results took a little longer due to the state of the observers Boards in the rain which was the primary reason for scubbing the results from section 4 on the first day. I think it was the worst weather we have ever experienced thanks to storm Katie-and that includes the year when we had snow and biting winds up on Exmoor. To sample the cream of Devon warmth and sunshine why not try the Dartmoor Classic 2 day trial on the 3rd and 4th September. Regulations will be on this site sometime in May or June.
Thats all folks-See some of you next year in the nice Spring sunshine that we usually have.
